The Innovations en concert invites submissions for the inaugural Museon Incubator for Emerging Trans, Nonbinary and Gender Expansive Creators—a new sound-based program supporting artists who identify as transgender, non-binary, gender non-conforming, or gender-diverse.
This project champions emerging sound creators, composers, experimental musicians, and artists working with audio in any form—including performances, recordings, installations, electronic compositions, sound art, and beyond.
Funding Information
- The residency offers:
- A flexible creation period from Fall 2025 to Spring 2026, defined by your project’s needs
- Financial support including fees, production expenses, and travel/accommodation, to a maximum of $3500
- Mentorship, production assistance, and promotional support
- Optional public presentation or dissemination through Innovations en concert
Eligibility Criteria
- They welcome proposals from artists across Canada.
- International applicants may be considered depending on feasibility.
- Collective or collaborative projects are welcome, as long as the lead applicant identifies as trans/nonbinary/gender expansive.
Assessment Criteria
- A leadership panel drawn from Montreal’s trans/nonbinary/gender expansive arts community will assess proposals based on artistic content, clarity of vision, and feasibility.
Application Requirements
- A project description (max 750 words)
- A short bio or CV
- If desired, a video or audio version of the project description and/or artist bio, maximum 5 minutes, to encourage diversity of culture/capacity
- 1–3 work samples (audio, video, or other documentation)
- A simple budget (including any anticipated travel/accommodation needs)
