Applications are now being invited for the recruitment of 200 young researchers for participation in face-to-face training on project development and mobilization of research grants, in four cities in the DRC (Goma, Bukavu, Lubumbashi and Kisangani).
The Francophonie Institute for Sustainable Development (IFDD), subsidiary body of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) in partnership with Kongo University in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Eden Africa and Ingénieurs Sans Frontières in Cameroon, is implementing the “Deployment of environmental technologies and innovations for sustainable development and poverty reduction” (PDTIE) project within the framework of the ACP Innovation Fund, Research and Innovation Program of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), a program implemented by the OACPS, with the financial contribution of the European Union.
The “Waste recovery for a healthy environment in DR Congo” project “VaDech RD Congo”) is one of the projects selected as part of the “Deployment of environmental technologies and innovations for sustainable development and reduction of waste” project. poverty” (PDTIE), an integral part of the IFDD program “P22 – Francophonie, Environment and Climate Resilience”.
This project is funded for a period of 23 months (i.e. from February 15, 2023 to January 15, 2025) and is managed by the University of Goma in North Kivu in DR Congo. The project aims to create an active environment in the management and recovery of waste in DR Congo. It includes three major activities:
- the production of technological & environmental innovations and
- the promotion of technological & environmental innovations and
- the training of young researchers in the development of projects and the mobilization of research grants.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be a young Congolese researcher, free or attached to a Higher and University Education Institution or a Research Center in DR Congo;
- Be at most 35 years old (for men) and 40 years old for women;
- Be responsible for a (pre) (research) project in the fields of health and well-being, information and communication technologies, the environment, agronomy and agri-food (or any other area of green technology).
