The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) invites junior researchers with a keen interest in building their capacity through hands-on experience and direct involvement in digital-trade regulatory analysis to apply for the ESCAP Research and Training Programme on digital-trade regulatory analysis for Asia and the Pacific.
This initiative offers a unique opportunity for young professionals from developing Asia-Pacific region to enhance their skills in research and analysis of digital trade-related laws and regulations. Participants will receive practical training in legal data collection, verification, and analysis, thereby developing competencies in digital-trade regulatory analysis and expanding their professional network.
Benefits
- Participants will receive a remuneration of up to USD 2,000 through an individual contract with ESCAP for the successful submission of finalized assignments for a country, demonstrating satisfactory quality. Outputs must follow technical guidelines and address peer-reviewed comments received.
- Hands-on training to build capacity in researching national regulations related to digital trade, including collecting and verifying regulatory information and understanding the implications of these regulations.
Eligibility Criteria
- The application is open to researchers with academic background in Laws or economics, and at least 1 year of work experience.
- Related experience in regulatory research, trade-related law, or economic law is desirable.
- Knowledge of official languages of the country of assignment is required.
