The European Union in partnership with like-minded organisations are pleased to request applications for the third cohort of the leadership mentoring programme for young women in Nepal.
As a successful candidate you will have the opportunity to be mentored by an Ambassador or Head of Agency based in Kathmandu, who will support you in your journey of strengthening your leadership skills.

- If selected, your 8-month leadership mentoring programme will include:
- One-on-one personalised mentoring sessions (online / in-person) with your mentor. These sessions will focus on supporting your leadership journey and professional growth.
- Opportunities for networking, by joining meetings and events hosted by one or more of the embassies/agencies participating in this programme.
- Events that bring together all mentees and mentors, including the marking of International Women’s Day 2025.
- Being part of a vibrant peer network of mentees and alumni, supporting one another through professional and personal journeys of reflection and growth.
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to Nepali women aged 23-29 and residing in Nepal.
- Have not participated in similar mentorship programmes of the participating organisations previously.
- Can commit to participate in the programme for its full duration (December 2024-August 2025).
- They particularly welcome applications from women belonging to historically marginalised groups, women with disabilities, those belonging to sexual or gender minority groups, and women from Dalit, Madhesi, indigenous, or religious minority communities.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Current or former personnel (including interns and volunteers) of embassies/agencies or family members of staff of any of the embassies/agencies taking part, are not eligible to apply for this programme.
Review Criteria
- They will review applications and select candidates who meet the eligibility requirements and demonstrate a strong fit for the programme. They will base their selection on the goals that you wish to achieve through the programme as you present them in your video, as well as your enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment that you show in your video.
Application Requirements
- Send them a video of maximum 90 seconds in English, by uploading it to Google Drive/YouTube
- In your video please respond to the questions below:
- What are your aspirations for joining the leadership programme?
- What are the three goals you want to achieve in your personal and professional growth with your mentor’s help?
- Please shoot the video in landscape (horizontal) mode. Avoid having a busy or noisy background when recording. The video should be well lit and show you clearly.
- Be creative, show them your personality and aspirations through the video.
- Make sure that the link you provide allows them to access the video.
- Name the video file with your name using the format ‘firstname.lastname’
