Young Forum Gastein Scholarship Programme

The Young Forum Gastein network fosters cross-sectoral exchange and collaboration across health-related fields, providing a platform for professional growth and skills development.

Each year, scholarship recipients participate in the European Health Forum Gastein (EHFG), taking part in a dedicated YFG programme and contributing actively to the broader conference. The EHFG 2025 will take place from Tuesday 30 September until Friday 3 October as a hybrid conference. During the conference, scholarship holders come together in-person to take part in a tailored YFG conference programme in Bad Hofgastein, Austria.

The EHFG offers a limited number of YFG scholarships to professionals from the public sector, private sector, science & academia, and civil society organisations.

Costs Covered

  • Conference registration fee and conference materials for the EHFG;
  • Participation in a tailor-made YFG programme;
  • Shuttle from/to Salzburg Airport (scholars are responsible for all other travel costs);
  • Accommodation for four nights in a three-star hotel;
  • Meals, and evening events.

Eligibility Criteria

  • You hold citizenship from a country in the WHO European Region;
  • You have the independent right to live and work in the EU;
  • Cannot assist with visa approval processes);
  • You are born after 30 September 1990;
  • You have proven proficiency in English (oral and written);
  • You hold a Master´s degree;
  • You have full-time work experience of at least two years in the field of health;
  • YFG Alumni can participate in the programme up to four times.

Application Requirements

  • Curriculum Vitae
    • Please make sure to distinguish the following:
      • Type of employment/experience: e.g. full-time, parttime, and volunteer work experience;
      • The duration of your employments by indicating months and years.
  • Copy of passport or identity card
    • Passport from country in the WHO European Region or; Identity card proving independent right to live and work in the EU.
  • Letter of support
    • A short letter signed by your manager/supervisor confirming that:
    • You are working in the field of health and have at least two years of work experience in this field;
    • Your manager/supervisor supports your application, and if you are selected your organisation will grant your participation in the entire YFG/EHFG programme;
  • Proof of proficiency in English
    • Unless you are a native speaker, please provide either a formal certificate/qualification demonstrating your English proficiency, or proof of written work in English, or confirmation from your employer of your proficiency and regular use of English in your day-to-day work (as part of the letter of support).
