Funding Information
- Polar Knowledge Canada (POLAR) sponsors the POLAR Northern Resident Scholarship annually. It is valued at $10,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must:
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
- Be a resident of Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Yukon, or Inuit Nunangat (henceforth referred to as northern residents) for 3 or more years at the time of the application.
- Be enrolled full-time in a doctoral or Master’s program at a recognized university at the time of application and over the tenure of the award.
- Are engaged in Northern or Arctic research culminating in a thesis, major paper, publication, or a similar output
- Demonstrate a commitment to polar studies.
- Conduct fieldwork between May (in the year the award is granted) and the following March.
