The Oppenheimer Memorial Trust’s Postgraduate Study scholarships are given to candidates with a proven record of academic excellence who intend to pursue careers in academia, research, development or related fields in South Africa.
Only exceptional candidates, who present specific and purposeful plans for advanced programmes in unique or highly specialised disciplines not readily available in South Africa, will be considered for international scholarships. Or who are able to demonstrate that they have advanced to a level where international tuition at a renowned institution, or under the direction of global leaders in their particular discipline will contribute meaningfully to their chosen fields.
Who can apply?
- They encourage applications from all disciplines (except for MBAs, DBAs, or programmes with a narrow commercial focus). Awards are made bi-annually.
- Preference may be given to students pursuing studies at local universities.
- South African citizens, permanent residents and foreign national may apply.
