The National Foundation for the Deaf is now inviting applications for its Education Scholarship to support persons who are Deaf or hard of hearing with their studies at a tertiary level.
Costs Covered
- Course fees, books, interpreters, note-takers and extra tuition etc.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant will be studying at a recognised post secondary institution.
- There is no age limit.
Application Requirements
- Individual applicants are required to:
- Be a New Zealand citizen or have permanent residency, and be residing in New Zealand.
- Be Deaf/hard of hearing (or those eligible to wear a hearing aid) or have an Auditory Processing Disorder (APD).
- Submit ALL supporting documents, along with a fully completed application form by the closing dates specified, or your application will not be considered.
- Supporting documents required:
- Where there is a hearing loss, an audiogram report or official letter from a physician or audiologist
- Where there is an Auditory Processing Disorder, an official letter from a physician or audiologist confirming the diagnosis of APD
- Minimum of TWO recent references (issued within the last 12 months) in support of applicant/s (requests by the applicant to email or phone the referees not accepted)
- Course outline
- Summary of qualifications held and record of learning
- Accountability report for any previous funding received from the NFD Trust
- A scanned copy of a pre-printed deposit slip or bank letter which includes the full bank account number (bank, branch, account number and suffix) and the account holder’s name. Must be signed and stamped by the bank within the last 90 days. Please note you must go to a branch and have the branch staff print off and sign your deposit slip or bank letter. Failure to upload the correct bank documentation, may result in your application not being considered.
