L’ORÉAL-UNESCO Hungarian Scholarship for Women and Science 2024

The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage young female scientists and research professionals to achieve outstanding and practical scientific results, and to encourage and promote the position of Hungarian women in the scientific and specifically research careers, in the most diverse research fields. The program is intended for PhD or postdoctoral candidates, and for doctors conducting research.

 Funding Information

• 2.5 Million Forints for each fellowship
• 3 annual endowments

Eligibility Criteria

• Hungarian citizenship, or
• in the case of foreign citizenship, the applicant must have proven participation in Hungarian research for at least 1 year, or carry out research activities in a Hungarian institution
• Women engaged in scientific research in one of the scientific fields indicated below, working in higher education institutions, their research institutions, or in any research network institution in the Republic of Hungary, can participate in the competition:
  • natural sciences, life sciences
  • material sciences
  • formal sciences
• The 2024 application contains 3 scholarships that can be freely used , in the three disciplines listed above.
• under 40 (or turning 40 in 2024) can apply for three scholarships of HUF 2,500,000 each .
• a minor child , the application age limit can be increased at the request of the applicant researcher: by 2 years per child or by the length of absences taken for child-rearing purposes after obtaining an academic degree (if it is more than 2 years).
• Publications in important scientific magazines

Ineligibility Criteria

• The L’ Oréal-UNESCO For Researchers who have previously been awarded by any national or regional program of Women in Science may not apply for the award.
