The One Young World, in partnership with Airbus, is inviting applications for the Airbus Scholarship to identify and connect an interdisciplinary team of 5 committed young leaders who are working on innovative climate adaptation and resilience solutions, or enabling social equity through education, skills development or employability solutions, to participate in the One Young World Summit 2024, which takes place in Montréal, Canada, from 18 – 21 September.
At Airbus, the purpose is to pioneer sustainable aerospace for a safe and united world. Through the Community Impact programme, they focus on supporting sustainable solutions that tackle community-identified needs, with a specific priority on enabling change for vulnerable people in the areas of youth development and environmental impact.
They invest in innovative education models and projects that increase equitable access to education and economic opportunities for vulnerable communities. They also put their efforts behind climate adaptation and resilience implementation solutions that address the economic, social and ecosystem impact of climate change.
Successful candidates will receive a fully funded scholarship to participate in the One Young World Summit 2024 which takes place in Montréal, Canada from 18 – 21 September. Scholars will participate in the Summit as members of Airbus’ delegation, and can participate in follow-up sessions with Airbus to help scale and accelerate their initiatives.
What they Offer?
- Hotel accommodation in Montréal between 17 – 21 September (inclusive) 2024.
- The cost of travel to and from Montréal (flights in economy).
- Catering which includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Transport between the Summit accommodation and the Summit venue.
Eligibility Criteria
- Aged 18 – 30
- Most delegates are between the ages of 18 and 30. The One Young World team will consider applications from those who are older than 30, pending demonstration of appropriate personal impact, initiative, and willingness to engage. They are not able to accept applications from those who will be aged under 18 at the time of the Summit.
