Ama Amoedo Foundation Scholarship Program

The Ama Amoedo Foundation is inviting applications for its Scholarship Program to provide resources and opportunities for the strengthening of the ecosystem of art and its institutions.

For the second consecutive year, the Ama Amoedo Foundation will award 10 scholarships to various agents in the Latin American artistic field, with a predominant focus on South America. They are offered in four categories: Artists, Art and Social Commitment, Organizations and Publications.

Categories

  • Artists
    • The Ama Amoedo Foundation Scholarships for Artists are intended for artists and/or artistic groups whose practices are focused on the visual arts. Specific research or artistic creation projects that imply a significant contribution to the artists’ career will be accepted.
  • Art and social commitment
    • The Ama Amoedo Foundation Scholarships for Art and Social Commitment are intended to support specific initiatives of groups, individuals or non-profit organizations that, through the arts, contribute to generating a positive impact on society. Projects that use artistic practice to promote education, social inclusion and enhancement of the community will be accepted.
  • Organizations
    • The Ama Amoedo Organization Foundation Scholarships are intended to support specific projects of non-profit institutions or organizations aimed at promoting, preserving and disseminating the work of Latin American artists. Initiatives will be accepted in a wide variety of formats, which, through precise goals, contribute directly to the art ecosystem.
  • Publications
    • The Ama Amoedo Organization Foundation Scholarships are intended to contribute to publications of art and/or Latin American artists. Its objective is to promote artistic professionalization by supporting publications that have significant relevance.

What you will get?

  • Artists
    • A total of 4 scholarships of US$10,000 will be allocated with the aim of supporting artists at a key moment in their career.
  • Art and social commitment
    • 2 scholarships of US$10,000 will be awarded with the objective of accompanying social and collaborative practices.
  • Organizations
    • 2 scholarships of US$10,000 will be awarded with the objective of accompanying similar institutions in their respective missions.
  • Publications
    • Two scholarships of US$10,000 will be awarded to specific editorial projects, with a maximum completion period of 2 years from receipt of the scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Those who apply must have a significant connection with Latin America, whether by nationality, cultural heritage and/or place where the project presented in the application will be carried out.
  • You are only allowed to apply for one Scholarship category.
  • Each category has specific conditions for its application.
  • In all cases, without exceptions, those who apply must be over 18 years of age.
  • In the categories where the Scholarship is applied as a group, institution, association, foundation, a person must be designated as the owner/legal person responsible for the project, whether a natural person or legal entity represented by their legal authority.
  • Each project must have a single owner, who will carry out the application and will be the point of reference in case of need for contact by the Jury or the Ama Amoedo Foundation. Likewise, he will be the person responsible for carrying out the project and signing the contract with the Foundation. To be awarded the Scholarship, it will be an exclusive requirement to have a bank account in the name of the owner of the application.

Ineligibility Criteria

  • The Foundation will not accept applications from institutions, organizations or projects with commercial purposes.
  • No proposals will be examined outside the stipulated call periods.
  • Scholarships will not be awarded for personal purposes, such as paying debts or legal expenses, nor for fundraising events.
  • Artists, institutions or organizations that have received other support from the Ama Amoedo Foundation within 12 months before the opening of the call will not be able to apply. Likewise, those who have functional, commercial, contractual or labor relations with the Ama Amoedo Foundation or provide services to it cannot apply; those who have kinship ties by blood or affinity up to the second degree with Ms. Amalia Amoedo and/or people linked or involved in the management and evaluation of the call. No organizations or state institutions may present projects.
