Deadline: 12 January 2024
The Hampshire County Council has launched the Waste Prevention Community Grant Fund to help kickstart or expand projects which reduce household waste in Hampshire and provide benefits to the local community.
Funding Information
- The maximum amount awarded to each project will be £5,000.
- Funding must be spent within 1 year of award.
What projects must demonstrate?
- Projects must demonstrate:
- That they will have an impact on household waste within the Hampshire County Council administrative area (this does not include Southampton or Portsmouth City Council areas).
- That they are innovative or new and do not duplicate activity in the local area (e.g. District/Town/Parish) that is already taking place.
- Measurable reductions in the amount of household waste, e.g. through items reused, or food diverted from waste. Please note: this does not include recycling activities.
- Social benefits (jobs/volunteer posts created, number of residents who have learnt new skills).
- How the activities will be sustained after the initial funding period, and/or leave a ‘legacy’ in terms of waste prevention outcomes.
- The fund will only support new projects, or expansion of existing products and services. It will not pay for existing activities.
- Successful projects will submit monthly monitoring information and data to the Waste Prevention Team for 1 year from the first grant payment.
