Deadline: 31 August 2025
Applications are now open for Vijayan Devan Southeast Asian Snake Conservation Grant Program.
Southeast Asia is home to an extraordinary diversity of snake species, many of which remain poorly studied compared to their counterparts in other regions of the world. This lack of information poses significant challenges to their conservation, as threats such as habitat loss, climate change, and human-snake conflict intensify.
To address this gap, Save The Snakes seeks to empower and support individuals working to conserve snakes and mitigate human-snake conflict in this biodiverse yet understudied region. By promoting and amplifying the efforts of researchers, conservationists, and educators based in Southeast Asia, they aim to foster a deeper understanding of the ecological importance of snakes and create solutions that benefit both people and wildlife.
The grant is designed to support individuals working on snakes in Southeast Asia who are underrepresented in the fields of herpetology and conservation. The funding is intended to enable the recipient to pursue impactful projects while fostering their professional growth and capacity to contribute to the field.
