Applications are now open for the VASGBI Trainee Research Development Grant to foster trainee research in vascular anaesthesia.
Funding Information
- Funding is limited to £5,000 in a single application.
Eligible Costs
- Equipment and consumables, including animal costs (all equipment purchased remains the property of VASGBI
- Personnel (including buy-outs of time) where these costs cannot be covered from other sources (e.g. CLRN)
- Necessary fees for access to data or to complete the project that can be justified
Ineligible Costs
- Specific exclusions are that funding will not support:
- Postage and photocopying (e.g. for surveys)
- Secretarial support
- Telephone, internet subscription costs
- Costs of enrolment for higher degrees or courses that may be required to complete the project
Eligibility Criteria
- Awards are open to all anaesthetic trainees in United Kingdom and Ireland not holding a substantive or locum consultant post. The trainee must be working in or affiliated with a department providing vascular anaesthetic services.
- Trainees must be supported by one or more named supervisors with research expertise and a track record of successful supervision of trainees.
- Where more than one application is received from the same group/centre/institution, clarification will be sought that these are not from the same collaboration.
- Applications for projects spanning a period of up to two years undertaken by a number of trainees over this period will be considered.
Application Requirements
- Applicants must submit their application online by the stated deadline. They advise you to allow sufficient time for this and factor in any potential technical difficulties you may encounter. The ScholarOne platform becomes extremely busy on deadline dates, so they advise you take this into consideration.
- Applicants can submit applications to more than one category but these must be on different subjects, i.e. the same application cannot be submitted to multiple categories.
- Applicants must complete and upload their application to ScholarOne Manuscripts as a SINGLE FILE in PDF format. This file should include all the documents which make up the application, i.e. the application form, CV, signed declaration, scientific abstract, lay abstract etc.
- Abstract and lay summary information should be copied and pasted from your PDF file into the text boxes provided on the system.
- Please note that applicants are no longer required to submit a hard copy of their application to them in the post, however you must make sure that the electronic version that you upload has been fully signed by all relevant parties.
- All applicants must now submit an NIAA Grants EDI data capture form by email.
- They are unable to accept any electronic applications after the deadline so it is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure their submission is uploaded on time. Please contact them in good time if you are having any difficulties.
