The Cavan County Council has announced its Culture and Health Platform Project to support European emerging artists who already have some experience working in the arts & health field and who want to develop their work further and join European cooperation.
The Culture and Health Platform project organizes annual national and international project calls for artists working in the field of arts & health. The aim of the projects is to support the health and well-being of individuals or communities through inter-professional cooperation with the health, social, or education sectors. Participation in the call requires a cooperation commitment from the organisation with which the artist(s) will carry out the project.
Participating artists are required to have fluent English skills and an interest in participating in the Culture and Health Platform project activities and international cooperation.
Funding Information
- The project call supports six arts & health projects with a grant amount of €4,000 euros each.
Eligible Projects
- In Ireland, the Culture and Health Platform call will support six artistic or cultural projects that aim to improve health and well-being of individuals or communities through working interdisciplinary with the health, social or educational sectors.
- Projects could include:
- Participatory art programmes for people experiencing physical and mental challenges
- Projects that focus on socially engaged artwork exploring prevention of illnesses or supporting better health outcomes through the arts.
- Art in healthcare or social environments including projects that enhance healthcare environments and support the staffs and the patient’s well-being
- Productions in healthcare or social settings: which could include performances, installations, exhibitions that support general well-being and highlight health-related issues
- Artists residencies in healthcare or social care settings
- Practice-based research activity
Eligibility Criteria
- The grant can be applied by individual emerging artists or working groups of artists, who have some experience working with different communities and an interest in developing their skills in the field of arts and health.
Application Requirements
- The partner organisation from the health, social or education sector needs to be contacted prior to the application stage (Schools, nursing homes, residential settings, hospitals).
- The partner organisation needs to write a short letter of collaboration that needs to be submitted with the application.
