Deadline: 5 January 2025
In celebration of Olympic Day, recognized annually by the IOC on June 23, Team Canada is opening applications for the Team Canada Olympic Day Grant for Canadian schools with the goal of empowering students to play and stay in sport.
Sport brings communities together, teaches people leadership and fair play, and fuels the health and well-being. But often there are barriers that mean that young Canadians either “can’t” or “won’t’” participate in sport. They believe that they play a role in ensuring access and a quality experience in sport at all levels.
A total of 30 grants are available for schools across the country to fund programs and projects that enable more students to access sport and support students to stay in sport by promoting inclusion and creating safe and positive sporting experiences.
Categories
- Schools will be able to apply for funding in three categories:
- Equipment Grant: The Equipment Grant is designed to provide schools with essential sporting equipment, ranging from balls and bats to nets and protective gear as well as professional development.
- Advancing Safe & Inclusive Sport Grant: The Safe Sport Grant provides funding to help schools develop and implement programs that ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all students participating in sports.
- Infrastructure Grant: The Infrastructure Grant focuses on improving the physical spaces and facilities that facilitate sports participation within schools.
