Submissions are now open for the Schools to Skills Grant, designed to help secondary schools create or enhance their career technical education programs with HBI’s Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate Training (PACT) curriculum—at no cost for two years.
The Schools to Skills Grant makes it easy for schools to integrate their PACT curriculum, a nationally recognized pre-apprenticeship program that equips students with the skills they need for careers in construction trades. The grant covers:
- Curriculum materials
- Educator training
- Ongoing support for successful implementation
Funding Information
- Grants will be awarded in the amount of (or up to, based on need) $13,000 per school district, plus an additional $2,000 per each additional school after the first high school, to be used toward HBI PACT licensing fees ($7,500 Initial Year/$2,000 Renewal Year/$2,000 Each Additional School after first school), Instructor training for 2 instructors ($2,000), and PACT Student Assessments ($1,500) for a period not to exceed two years. Grants will provide funding to start the 2025-2026 academic year, and do not provide funding for staff salary, tools, materials, or anything additional.
Eligibility Criteria
- High Schools only, but may be public, private, or charter schools.
- Schools must implement HBI’s Pact Curriculum.
- HBI will consider funding multiple schools per district.
- HBI requires acceptance of this grant in writing within 2 weeks of award notification.
- School/District must finalize a license agreement for implementation of curriculum.
- School must have Instructor hired and ready to be trained by June – August 2025.
