The Sabanci Foundation invites applications to support non-governmental organizations that carry out projects for women, young people and disabled people who are exposed to discrimination in Turkey.
In addition to financial support, non-governmental organizations supported within the scope of Sabanci Foundation Grant Programs, which have been ongoing for 17 years; They also have the opportunity to receive technical support on issues they need such as visibility, communication, capacity development, meeting with experts, monitoring and evaluation, and resource development.
Problem Area
- Within the scope of the Grant Programme, under the main heading of education to combat the discrimination faced by women, young people and disabled people; quality education, supporting access to and attendance to education Rights-based non-formal education activities will be supported.
- Quality Education, Supporting Access and Attendance to Education: Support will be provided in this area The projects aim to increase the quality of education within the school, to include groups that have difficulty in accessing the education system and to ensure their continuity in education. The projects to be developed are expected to address at least one of the following areas:
- Ensuring equal access to quality education
- Increasing the quality of special education and inclusive education
- Ensuring that girls continue their education
- Innovative training methods and development of digital competencies
- Supporting Rights-Based Non-Formal Education Activities: With the projects to be supported in this field, it is aimed to increase the awareness and strengthen the awareness of women, young people and disabled people or the relevant actors working with these target groups. The projects to be developed are expected to address at least one of the following areas:
- Awareness and strengthening of rights
- Social participation and representation
- Combating early and forced marriages
- Independent living and accessibility
- Fighting climate change
- Quality Education, Supporting Access and Attendance to Education: Support will be provided in this area The projects aim to increase the quality of education within the school, to include groups that have difficulty in accessing the education system and to ensure their continuity in education. The projects to be developed are expected to address at least one of the following areas:
Funding Information
- Within the scope of the 2024 Grant Program, the total amount of grants to be given to all eligible projects is maximum 8,000,000 TL. If there is no application of the required quality, Sabancÿ Foundation reserves the right not to use the remaining funds.
- Grants to be given per project will be between the minimum and maximum amounts stated below:
- Minimum: 600,000 TL
- Maximum: 1,000,000 TL
- If the amount requested from Sabanci Foundation remains below or above the amounts stated above. In this case, the project application will be deemed invalid.
- Project Duration: A project must last a maximum of 12 months, the main activities of the project must be within the borders of Turkey.
Target Audience
- Within the scope of the Grant Program, support will be given to projects targeting women, youth and disabled people. It is important that the applicant institutions know the targeted audience closely and have had relationships with this audience in the past. In cases where there is no communication with the targeted audience, the route to be followed on how to communicate with this audience must be detailed in the project application.
Eligibility Criteria
- Established only in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Turkey and located in Turkey:
- Associations
- Foundations
- Cooperatives
- Universities can apply for the Grant Programme
- International organizations, non-governmental organizations located in Turkey, local governments, economic enterprises of foundations and associations, private companies, chambers of commerce and industry, schools, public institutions and organizations and the units/directorates/branches/foundations of these organizations, etc. Not eligible to apply for the Grant Programme. However, these institutions can take part as project partners.
- Associations, foundations and cooperatives, including their headquarters and branches, can apply to the Grant Program with a single project. Universities can apply more than once, provided that there is approval and signature of the rectorate and the applications are from different units (vocational schools, research centers, faculties, etc.).
- An institution can only apply once as a project owner, but it is possible for the institution to be a partner in more than one project.
- Individual applications cannot be made to the Grant Programme.
