The India Foundation for the Arts is inviting applications for its Artists for projects in Government Schools in Karnataka to participate as facilitators in implementing arts-integrated projects.
These projects, which complement the school curriculum, should provide a solid foundation for arts-integrated teaching. It is desirable that the proposals clearly state arts-integrated projects that encourage students’ creativity and research skills.
Funding Information
- Up to a maximum of Rs.2,00,000/– .
- The proposer may consider a maximum of Rs.70,000/– as self-financing.
- The project should have a duration of one year.
Eligible Projects
- The project should involve many stakeholders, including parents, students, teachers, those involved in the arts, and more.
- Efforts should be made to incorporate local resources or art forms into classroom teaching methods.
- The project should specifically focus on one art form, including theater, music, folklore, visual arts, photography, film, and literature, to encourage student-centered learning.
- The project should help inspire the school community to raise awareness about social justice and the environment.
Eligibility Criteria
- Artists with prior experience in art education or those with appropriate training in art education may submit proposals.
- Must be proficient in the local language.
- Must be Indian citizens.
Application Requirements
- You can write your project in Kannada, Urdu, Hindi, Marathi, Telugu and English.
- Request letter to undertake the project.
- Your personal introduction as well as your experience working with children.
- Details of the name, address, background, and abilities of the co-teachers of the school you have chosen, along with the social and cultural background of the students.
- Brief information about the current arts education activities of your chosen school, if any.
- A letter of consent from the principal of the selected school along with the name and phone number of the school’s contact point.
- Project objectives.
- Details of work plans.
- Details of resource persons/community members participating during the project period.
- Desired outcomes that can come from the project.
