The Ministry of Science and ICT, on behalf of the Korean Government and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), on behalf of the Philippine Government are pleased to announce the Philippines-Korea Joint S&T Research Program to give researchers an opportunity to strengthen the existing bilateral cooperation between Philippines and South Korea and explore new research partnerships.
The call aims to give researchers an opportunity to strengthen the existing bilateral cooperation and explore new research partnerships with potentially high value. Principal investigators (PI) will ensure that each country provides balanced contributions, scientific inputs as well as shared research results.

Funding Information
- Each joint research project shall receive up to USD96,000 for a maximum of 3-year implementation, equivalent to:
- Funding support from Korea: up to 120,000,000 KRW for 3 years, and
- Funding support from the Philippines: up to 5,000,000 PHP for 3 years.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible partners are invited to present joint proposals on identified S&T area in order to address technological, economic and social challenges. Projects submitted in other research fields will not be considered for evaluation.
- Each PI can submit one proposal only; and PIs from Korea and the Philippines should apply to the participating institution/organizations in their respective countries.
- Applicants from both sides are to submit coordinated applications to their respective countries. The required documents may differ by country.
Evaluation Criteria
- Scientific excellence of the project, scientific excellence of the partners, potential impact and expected results application, strengthening of cooperative networks between the two countries, etc.
