Quick Response Grant – Youth (Australia)

Deadline: 31 May 2025

The Northern Territory Government is pleased to announce the Quick Response Grant – Youth in Australia.

The Office of Youth Affairs administers the Youth Engagement Grants Program, which aims to provide financial support to young people, community groups and organisations enabling young Territorians to engage and participate in a variety of drug and alcohol free recreational events, personal development and leadership programs.

Funding Information

  • Grants of up to $500 are available to individual applicants to support participation in events, personal development opportunities and/or leadership programs. Grants of up to $2,000 are available for organisations/community groups to support the participation or coordination of activities that aim to engage young people.

What they can fund?

  • Exciting and creative ideas which provide safe and secure entertainment opportunities for young people.
  • Programs which encourage the development of skills and attributes such as self-esteem, cooperation and trust for young people.
  • Projects that involve young people at all levels; payment compensation for registration or participation fees in an amount up to $500 (including – attendance of programs, summits or short-term learning opportunities within the Northern Territory only and/or virtual online programs, summits or short term learning opportunities). • Travel costs to support young Territorians participation in an event/activity (12-25 years of age); you will need to explain how your new skills will be transferred to young people in the Northern Territory. Up to $500 per person for the transport/travel fees (either intra-territory or interstate) that organisations may incur to facilitate events/activities in the Northern Territory. These events and activities must benefit young Territorians.
  • Wages or salaries for course providers (e.g. instructors) up to $1000, only if required for the facilitation of an event or activity.
  • Activities and/or opportunities providing youth friendly engagement for and with young people.
  • Only four individuals can apply for the same event/activity or competition. This is to ensure that there is enough grant budget available for a range of activities across the year.
  • A parent or guardian may apply for the same event, activity, or competition for siblings (ensuring it is a separate application).
  • There is flexibility for the delegate to consider funding multiple applications to one organisation in different locations with the Northern Territory.

What they can’t fund?

  • Payment of membership, registration or participation fees (includes visa application fee, travel insurance, sporting registration and course registrations for long term learning opportunities);
  • Events and activities that do not have a specific youth focus.
  • Commercial or business activities. i.e. to make a profit.
  • Grant funding contributions directly towards fundraising or charitable activities.
  • Purchase of any capital equipment.
  • Programs or activities which are political or discriminatory against another, based on their gender, culture, religion or marital status.
  • Projects that the office considers do not represent value for money or the responsibility of other funding bodies or government agencies.
  • International events and activities, or airfares for international travel.
