The NSW Government is pleased to announce a call for applications to support innovative, accessible NSW arts and culture, and the employment and development of professional artists and cultural workers.
Objective
- Project funding objectives:
- deliver a dynamic and diverse range of arts and cultural experiences to communities across NSW
- contribute to the development of a vibrant and accessible arts and cultural sector
- support the employment and development of professional NSW-based artists and arts/cultural workers (including museum workers).
Funding Information
- Grant amount: Up to $60,000.
Types of projects funded under this grant
- Funding is available for a wide range of arts and cultural activities including:
- creative development
- public presentation
- commissioning professional artists
- community collaborations/partnerships
- research and/or development
- audience engagement
- making work accessible to audience/artists with disability.
Eligibility Criteria
- Your project must be a clearly defined arts and cultural activity that either:
- benefits NSW by employing professional NSW artists or arts and cultural workers
- provides arts and cultural experiences to the people of NSW.
- Individuals who are:
- 18 years or above
- residing in NSW over the last 12 months
- an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- A group who are all:
- over 18 years or above
- residing in NSW over the last 12 months
- Australian citizens or permanent residents.
Ineligible
- organisations (legally constituted establishments with an ABN)
- individuals and groups who have applied and/or received previous funding from Create NSW for the same stage/phase of the project or for project top-ups
- individuals and groups whose project has already started, taken place or due to be completed before the funding period starts
- current employees of Create NSW
- recent employees of Create NSW, who have left within the last 12 months
- individuals and groups seeking support for filmmaking, screen productions or film festivals. Refer to Screen NSW regarding film sector funding opportunities.
What can’t you apply for?
- You cannot apply to use funds for:
- activities that are carried out to satisfy the course requirements of an educational institution, such as a TAFE or university
- activities that directly support the delivery of an educational program or course
- arts and cultural activities that are led by non-professional artists or organisations
- reimbursement to recover costs of items already purchased (such as flights, accommodation, and materials)
- purchasing musical instruments, artworks, equipment (such as laptops, cameras, technical equipment, or machinery), or vehicles
- capital works (infrastructure/building activities). Refer to Create Infrastructure regarding capital works funding opportunities
- fundraising and donations, awards, competition entry fees or prize money
- repayment of loans regarding funding opportunities. This does not include videos with direct involvement of artists, musicians, and performers such as music videos, video art and video for performance
- filmmaking projects, screen productions or film festivals. Refer to Screen NSW regarding film sector funding opportunities.
- Note:
- You can only submit 1 application for Individual/Groups Project Funding
- Aboriginal individuals or group applicants can only submit 1 application for either project funding or Creative Koori Projects per round.
