- Grant value: $300 – $2000
Funding Priorities
- They welcome grant applications that align to the following priorities:
- They enable people to celebrate, participate in and contribute to their local community.
- They have a thriving, vibrant and safe town centre.
- They provide for local cultural and arts experiences in the area.
- The parks, sports and recreation facilities are well used.
- They support communities to achieve their goals and aspirations.
- They increase the number of visitors who contribute to the local economy.
- They protect and improve the environment around the harbthe, and the streams are enjoyed by increasing numbers of people.
- They focus on reducing, reusing and recycling.
- They celebrate and highlight the history and heritage.
Outcomes
- The grants programme will support the following outcomes:
- A vibrant and prosperous metropolitan centre.
- Helping people lead active, healthy and connected lives.
- A strong local economy.
- Our area is well-connected and easy to move around.
- They are treasured for our environment and heritage.
Eligibility Priorities
- Higher priority for eligibility
- They will prioritise:
- events and activities that are held in the local board area, or can demonstrate the benefit to the local community
- applicants who have considered other sources of funding or are working with other community groups
- projects or events that align with the healthy environment principles of:
- water is the first choice
- good kai (food) for everyone
- smokefree, alcohol and drug free
- movement is encouraged.
- They will prioritise:
- Lower priority for eligibility
- They have identified the following applications as lower priority:
- Fundraising events.
- Costs towards:
- travel expenses
- salaries
- vehicles
- electronic equipment
- catering.
- Where there isn’t enough of a need for financial help for the project.
- Where the applicant has not considered other financial sources for the project.
- They have identified the following applications as lower priority:
Eligibility Criteria
- community organisations with a formal legal structure
- groups or individuals with no formal legal structure can apply for up to $1,000 (Kaipatiki Local Board will not fund individuals)
- applicants seeking funding over $1,000 will need to nominate an umbrella organisation or
- receive funding retrospectively.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Political parties
- Internal applicants (i.e. to fund projects, programmes or facilities run by Auckland Council or its employees)
- Auckland Council CCOs (council-controlled organisations), including facilities owned and operated by Regional Facilities Auckland (RFA)
- Organisations receiving statutory funding from council via compulsory annual levies, under the Auckland Regional Amenities Funding Act (ARAFA) or comparable legislation
- Other local authorities, government agencies or public sector entities.
What they won’t Fund?
- The Papakura Local Board will not fund:
- Applicants who have failed to complete or provide a satisfactory accountability form from previous grants received
- Applicants with no quotes provided
- Applications applying for the same project or activity more than once in a financial year
- Applications requesting funding for projects or events which have already taken place
- Projects that have little to no benefit to the local board area.
