The Kurita Water and Environment Foundation (KWEF) is pleased to announce the Overseas Research Grant Program.
The Kurita Water and Environment Foundation (KWEF) supports scientists of Asian nationality who are conducting research in their own countries. The focal research area is water-related Environmental Science and Technology.
Funding Information
- Maximum amount is 400,000 Japanese yen per an adopted research.
Research Period for 2024
- From October 1st, 2024 to September 30th, 2025
Research Subjects Supported
- Research subjects related to water environment in the applicant’s country can be applied. Examples of appropriate research subjects are; water/wastewater treatment, water quality analysis, sustainability of water environment sanitation, water ecosystem, agricultural water use, industrial wastewater treatment.
Notes:
- KWEF is intended to support academic research.
- Research programs aimed primarily at generating business profit will not be adopted.
- Scientists who are conducting research in Japan should apply the domestic research grants in Japan instead of this overseas research program.
- KWEF does not provide the grant money directly to the grantee. KWEF will transfer the grant in Japan Yen or US dollars to a bank account of the institute which the grantee belongs to. The institute must provide the bank account information available to receive either currency from Japan, manage the grant money and submit the expense report to KWEF.
- The grant money should be used for the direct expenses of the research program, such as the purchase of equipment and reagent, outsourcing analysis costs, travel costs associated with fieldwork. If necessary, an appropriate charge for the institute overhead expenses can be taken from the grant money.
- The Foundation does not notify each applicant the reason for adoption or rejection based on the agreement of the selection committee.
