Open Call: SFP8 Short Film Production Grant

Offered alongside SFP—the Foundation’s annual festival celebrating independent cinema and moving image—the grant supports the completion of short films that push the boundaries of contemporary filmmaking. Grant recipients will have the opportunity to premiere their films at a future edition of SFP.

Funding Information

• The grant allocates a total of 120,000 AED (approximately 30,000 USD).

Eligibility Criteria

• Sharjah Art Foundation invites local and international filmmakers to apply for the eighth edition of the Sharjah Film Platform (SFP) Short Film Production Grant.
• The application is open to independent filmmakers, with no restrictions on age, region or genre.
• This is an international open call; filmmakers based anywhere in the world can submit an application.

Application Requirements

• Completed application form
• Three-minute pitch (via Vimeo/YouTube)
• Original script
• Budget plan
• Production schedule
• The final film must not exceed 50 minutes with credits (around 50 pages).
• The final film can be in any language; however, it must include Arabic and English subtitles.
