The Cambodian Living Arts (CLA) is delighted to offer FOUR places for the Bangkok Art Biennale (BAB) 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand, happening in person from October 23-27, 2024 inclusive of travel dates.
The grant is mainly created to support art and cultural practitioners from all disciplines (Film, performing arts, visual arts, writing communities. To develop ideas, networking and skill through participation in the training course, workshop, conference, festival, research presentation, art, and culture residency.
The CLA wants to support those who haven’t accessed this opportunity before. The long objective of the “Mobility Grant” is for Cambodian art development, especially, focusing on experience exchange, and capacity building for artists and cultural researchers. There will be two key aspects during the 3 full-day program:
- Experiencing and learning through the Bangkok Art Biennale:
- Two full days will be dedicated to the grantees for full engagement and learning during the Bangkok Art Biennale. Activities will include attending the exhibition opening, participating in sharing sessions/seminars, engaging in an hour-long session for exchanges with curators/organizers and our four selected grantees, touring exhibitions at various venues, and interacting with artists.
- Exposure to the Bangkok Local Art Scene:
- This will include visits to the national museum, modern contemporary art spaces/museums, and creative art hubs/communities.

- Awardees will have the chance to engage in thought-provoking conversations with artists, curators, and organizers. They will also have the opportunity to participate in sessions, exhibition openings, and take part in seminars and/or workshops. Additionally, awardees will visit creative and arts spaces, museum galleries, and other cultural venues, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of the art scene and practices.
- Awardees can expand their knowledge and network with individuals working in similar fields across the Asian region.

- They want to support those who haven’t accessed this opportunity before.
- Equity & inclusion are core values of Cambodian Living Arts. For this reason at least 50% of awards will be made to women. Applicants from underserved and underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Funding Information
- Grant amount: up to $1000 USD.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible, applicant must:
- Be a resident in Cambodia who holds Cambodian citizenship or a K-Visa.
- Be able to communicate in English (at least conversational level) because the program will be conducted in English throughout the 3 days.
- Have passport in place with at least 6-month validity before the departure.
- Application form must be the Cambodian Living Arts application form. It has to be filled in every section and in English.
- Submit a biography focusing your involvement in the arts (Max 1 page).
- As an alternative to completing the application form in writing, you may submit a video or audio recording for some or all of the questions in English. You must make sure that all points are addressed. Please use the word counts as a guideline for the length of your answers. 100 words should be approximately 1 minute of speaking.
