Open Call for the Imagination Scheme

The Dutch Film Fund is inviting applications for the Imagination Scheme to focus on majority Dutch feature-length films that are on the border between cinematography and visual arts.

Funding Information

The development contribution amounts to a maximum of €25,000 excluding a maximum of 17.5% overhead and producer’s fee per project.

Eligibility Criteria

De Verbeelding focuses on film productions directed by a professional visual artist (as defined in the general terms and conditions of the Mondriaan Fund). The visual artist has demonstrably been working professionally as a visual artist for the past 3 years and is integrated into the Dutch visual arts circuit. The artist also has a demonstrably good track record in the field of independent, artistic, artistic and/or experimental film.
The visual artist writes an application for De Verbeelding together with a film producer. This production company is the main applicant and submits the application.
The application for De Verbeelding is made by a production company (a legal entity, not a sole proprietorship or general partnership) that has been established for at least two years in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, a member state of the EU, EEA or Switzerland and that produces and exploits films and other audiovisual productions on a continuous basis.
The production company is represented by a producer who, as majority producer, has been primarily responsible for the realization of at least one film with a cinema release in the Netherlands. In addition, the producer has experience with the production and release of artistic and/or experimental films.
