The National Arts Council of Namibia is offering grants to open up a world of opportunities for talented artists and support their artistic endeavours.
Funding is available for a variety of disciplines, including studio arts, participation in events, capacity-building workshops, and more.
The National Arts Council of Namibia is passionately committed to bridging the funding gap that plagues the artistic industry. They firmly believe that artists are the driving force behind shaping the culture and society, yet their invaluable work often goes unnoticed and underfunded.
Focus Areas
- Artists are encouraged to apply if their work addresses one or more of the six critical focus areas outlined by the NACN which include:
- Social Issues
- Promoting the involvement of underrepresented groups
- Artistic capacity building
- Funding applications are open for various disciplines, including:
- Studio arts, such as paintings, printmaking, sculpting, and drawing.
- Participation in events like shows, expos, and festivals.
- Events such as fashion shows, exhibitions, theatre, dance, and music performances.
- Arts-related capacity-building workshops and training.
- Talent development initiatives.
- Participation in national events.
- Arts-specific research.
- Applicants must have the capability to address at least one of the six critical focus areas below:
- Social protection and research;
- Unearthing marginalized and indigenous arts in rural areas;
- Addressing social ills such as unemployment and gender-based violence;
- Supporting the involvement of women, youth employment opportunities, and people living with disabilities;
- Creation of new works through digital media; and
- Capacity Building and Arts Entrepreneurship.
Eligibility Criteria
- Artists are encouraged to participate.
