The Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is seeking applications for the Arts Access Grant for Older People to support their participation in arts activities in the County.
Funding Information
- You can apply for a maximum of €2,000.
- You can also apply for less than this, you can apply for as little as €100.
What is the Grant to be used for?
- This grant can only be used to support participation in arts activities by older persons groups. This could be any arts activity such as a series of dance workshops or creative writing sessions. These grants support local older persons groups to take part in and celebrate the arts in their local neighbourhood.
Eligibility Criteria
- An older person’s group, individual artist or service organisation can apply for this funding. If an individual artist is applying to work with a group of older people, they must have a letter from the group that they wish to work with.
- This letter must outline the groups wish to work with the artist and detail what the project event is.
Terms and Conditions
- The applicant must have a dedicated bank account.
- Grants will not cover third party grants or assistance to cover loans or deficits, charity fundraising events or the hire fee of Council premises.
- Applicants must fully declare any additional council, government or council controlled organization funding or grant.
- Applicants seeking funding over €10,000 must submit a valid Tax Clearance Certificate with their application.
- Applicants must comply with all Council regulatory and statutory requirements relating to the preparation and delivery of any events, including obtaining all necessary permits and consents, if required.
- Employees or Councillors of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council are not eligible to apply.
- The decision of the County Council on the dlr Grants Scheme is final.
Application Requirements
- A description of the older person’s group.
- Details about what you will use the grant for. Please include as much detail as possible, they need to understand what you are proposing to use the funding for, when and where will the activity take place, who will benefit and why are you applying for funding?
- An outline budget, outlining the different costs for your activity and any other income (if you have other income).
- If you are an individual artist, they also need a letter of support from the group that clearly states that they are interested in participating in the event activity.
- Events of the following nature will not be considered:
- Events that promote religious or political purposes or events that exclude or offend parts of the community
- Events that have breached previous funding agreements with the council, including post event reporting criteria, and where no commitment has been made to rectify this.
