The Novo Nordisk Foundation is pleased to announce the Continuing education pool to support teachers’ ongoing didactic development and professional commitment through individually adapted and practical continuing education on short formal or informal courses.
The purpose is also to provide time for reflection, job satisfaction, sparring with colleagues and development of teaching at one’s own educational institution.
The Novo Nordisk Foundation wants to promote natural science education and strengthen interest, knowledge and skills in natural science, technology and sustainability among children and young people in Denmark.
Funding Information
- The total pool is up to DKK 20 million for continuing education activities.
- You can apply for support for participation in one course per application round. You can only apply for support for participation in the courses that are listed in The course list. The support covers the following expenses for the applicant teacher:
- Course fee
- Course days : Temporary cover/paid hours for up to five days of course participation
- Development days : Temporary cover/paid hours for three days to develop your own teaching or knowledge sharing and collaboration with colleagues at your own educational institution
- The support exclusively covers these three expenses. Any additional costs must be borne by the educational institution. It can, for example, be VAT, transport, catering, accommodation and materials, which are not included in the course fee. The educational institution must also co-finance colleagues’ time for knowledge sharing activities.
- Please note that the grant is only paid out when the teacher has reported on the activities held approx. three months after completed course participation. This means that the educational institution must pay for the costs of course participation.
Who can apply?
- Teachers who are employed to teach one or more of the subjects below at a public or private primary or secondary school can apply for support for their own further education. Applications must be made in person from the individual teacher and by agreement with the manager.
- Subjects in primary school:
- Nature/technology, physics/chemistry, biology, geography, mathematics and craft and design. Kindergarten class for the competence areas of mathematical attention and science phenomena.
- Subjects in the upper secondary school (stx, htx, hhx, hf, vuc):
- Natural sciences in all basic courses (NV), physics, chemistry, biology, biotechnology, natural geography, geosciences, astronomy, mathematics, informatics, technical subjects, technology and natural science subjects.
