The U.S. Embassy Kigali Public Diplomacy Section is pleased to announce a funding opportunity through the Educational and Cultural Exchange Programs Appropriation Overseas Grants.
Program Objectives
- The grantee will coordinate with the EducationUSA Advisor of the Public Diplomacy Section to carry out a college preparatory program for 30 students who will apply to U.S. colleges and universities for 2024 fall admission and 2025.
- The college preparatory course will cover SAT, English proficiency classes, and essay writing skills. The grantee will also be responsible for paying for one SAT exam for each student and for one DuoLingo English test and one CSS profile account each.
Funding Information
- Length of performance period: 8 to 12 months
- Number of awards anticipated: 1 award (dependent on amounts)
- Award amounts: awards be a maximum of $24,000
- Total available funding: $24,000
- Anticipated program start date: May 6, 2024
Participants and Audiences
- The EducationUSA Scholars Program assists highly qualified students who are likely to be awarded full financial aid from U.S. colleges and universities. Each year, the U.S. Embassy Kigali Public Diplomacy Section selects EducationUSA Scholars Program members from top performing high school students.
Eligible Applicants
- The following organizations are eligible to apply:
- Individuals (U.S. or Foreign)
- Public and Private Educational Institutions (U.S. or Foreign)
- Non-governmental organizations (U.S. or Foreign).
- Applicants are only allowed to submit one proposal per organization. If more than one proposal is submitted from an organization, all proposals from that institution will be considered ineligible for funding.
