The United States Department of Agriculture, Foreign Agricultural Service, Agricultural Economic Development have announced grant applications to support short-term agricultural fellowships that bring Ukrainian stakeholders to the U.S. for 2-3 week technical training programs.
Fellowships must provide hands-on experience and opportunities for application of research, extension, or teaching agendas. Host institutions will transfer knowledge through a variety of methods, including but not limited to structured instruction, extension work with their faculty, students, extension officers, and constituents. Host institutions should continue to maintain professional contacts with the fellows after their departure from the United States.
Specific training topics shall be jointly developed and determined by USDA/FAS and the applicant after selection. Examples of topics may include (but are not limited to) dairy and swine farm management, livestock biohazard controls, agricultural policy, biotechnology, Market Information Systems.
Objectives
- The objective is that Ukrainian Fellows will improve their understanding of critical agricultural topics that will result in stronger on-farm livestock (swine and dairy) management practices;
- utilization of tools and technologies to improve policy development and analysis; and/or
- understanding of applications, policies and regulations in biotechnology.

- Total Available Funding: $250,000.00
Eligibility Criteria
- State cooperative institutions or other colleges and universities in the United States.
- Training opportunities must be designed for senior and mid-level specialists and administrators working in agricultural trade, agribusiness development, management, policy, and marketing.
