The Dutch Film Fund has launched its Netherlands Film Production Incentive High-End Series to increase the attractiveness of the Dutch film sector for both majority and minority high-end series.
With this, the Fund wants to increase production activity for creative and technical film professionals and film companies in the Netherlands. In addition, the Fund aims to use the Incentive to promote the development of film talent in the Netherlands and stimulate the diversity, quality and distribution of high-end series.
Funding Information
- The following subsidy contribution can be requested for the Netherlands Film Production Incentive for high-end series:
- Maximum €3 million per project per year per applying production company.
- The annual budget for 2025 is €9 million for high-end series (3 rounds).
Eligibility Criteria
- The application for the Production Incentive High-End Series can be submitted by an independent production company (a legal entity, not a sole proprietorship or general partnership) that has been established in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, a member state of the EU, EEA or Switzerland for at least two years and continuously produces and exploits film productions, series and other audiovisual productions.
- The production company is represented by a producer who has been primarily responsible for the realisation of at least 1 majority film production (reference film) with a production budget of at least €500,000 and at least one cinema release in the Netherlands and/or 1 majority series (reference series) within the same category and minute price (as for the series for which an application has been submitted), which has been made public primarily via television/VOD broadcast in the Netherlands. The categories are drama series, animation series and documentary series.
- The Film Production Incentive High-End Series is intended for Dutch producers of drama, documentary and animation series and in particular for producers who want to collaborate with international producers on a project basis to exchange creativity and business. The scheme also stimulates the development of talent, diversity, quality and broad visibility in multiple countries.
