Mito Foundation’s Incubator Grants support innovative research efforts with the potential to make a positive impact on the mito community.
This funding mechanism aims to facilitate high-quality preliminary studies to enable the researcher to generate sufficient data to secure external funding to continue their research.

Funding Information
- Mito Foundation’s Incubator Grants are charitable grants of up to A$25,000 for a period of up to 12 months.
- Funding cannot be used to cover on-costs, infrastructure, or other indirect costs. They encourage applications with co-funding from another organisation, although this is not a requirement for this funding mechanism.
Eligibility Criteria
- Research must be focussed on primary mitochondrial disease
- Proposals addressing innovative research efforts will be considered. Funding is not available for well-established research programs under this funding mechanism
- Australian and overseas applications are welcome.
