The ASBMR Fund for Research and Education, in collaboration with the Development Committee, Ambassador Subcommittee and the Diversity Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Committee, is proud to announce a new International Travel Grant program to enable two recipients from low or middle-income countries to attend the ASBMR 2024 Annual Meeting, September 27-30 in Toronto, ON, Canada.
Funding Information
- The Fund for Research and Education will award two grants of up to $5,000 USD each in 2024. Travel support will include airfare, ground transportation, lodging (4 nights), meals, incidentals, visa application fees and poster printing. The recipients’ abstract submission fees and Annual Meeting registration fees will also be waived.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must work, reside, or study full-time in a country that is classified as lower income (LIC), lower-middle income (LMIC), or upper-middle income (UMIC) on the World Bank country classifications by income level
- Must hold an MD, PhD, or equivalent degree in a field related to bone mineral and musculoskeletal science, OR be currently enrolled in doctoral level training
- Must plan to attend and submit an abstract for the ASBMR Annual Meeting (the abstract requirement is waived in 2024, but an abstract is highly encouraged and may be beneficial for securing your entry visa into Canada)
- May not be previous recipients of this award
- May not receive other ASBMR travel awards or grants for the same meeting.
