The Creative New Zealand is seeking applications to support performing arts practitioners to attend international marketplaces, for artistic and professional development.
What can be funded?
- Attendance, as part of a delegation, at a market identified by Creative New Zealand.
- The markets they have identified include:
- Edinburgh Festivals (Edinburgh) – August 24
- Tanzmesser (Hamburg) – August 24
- APAX (Melbourne) – August 24
- PAMS (Seoul) – October 24
- CINARS (Montreal) – November 24
- Mundial (Montreal) – November 24
- You may choose to express interest in other international marketplaces.
- Successful applicants will be offered a grant between $2,500 and $8,000, depending on the location, as a financial contribution towards:
- flights
- accommodation
- registration fees
- per diems
Eligibility Criteria
- Individual performing arts practitioners who:
- are New Zealand citizens or Permanent Residents
- have an established practice in dance, music, or theatre
- are seeking international networking and professional development, and opportunities to tour work internationally
- are willing to travel as part of a delegation to an international marketplace selected by Creative New Zealand, taking place between August and December 2024
- are willing to share the knowledge gained from attending a market, with performing arts communities in New Zealand, through events hosted by Creative New Zealand
- The priority is to support individuals attending a performing arts market for the first time. Individuals applying to attend a market for a second time must demonstrate the value of return attendance.
- Practitioners who work in groups or collectives must apply individually.
- Permanent, full-time staff members of Toi Tōtara Haemata or Toi Uru Kahikatea investment organisations cannot apply. However, part-time, fixed-term employees or contractors of Toi Tōtara Haemata or Toi Uru Kahikatea investment organisations can apply.
