The Fundación MAPFRE is pleased to announce the Ignacio H. de Larramendi Research Grants to promote projects carried out by individual researchers or research teams and whose object of study is related to health promotion or insurance and social protection.
Topics
- The research projects related to health promotion must explore one of the following topics:
- Strategies and education to change habits: prevention of obesity, and the promotion of physical activity and emotional well-being (including the appropriate use of new technologies).
- Emergency response training for the general population.
- Assessment of bodily harm: assessment of the consequences of an event (traumatic or accidental, medical negligence, aggression or disease) on the health of the individual and its repercussions on the essential activities of ordinary life and other specific activities of personal development (pain and suffering, loss of quality of life).
- Health management: clinical quality and safety.
- Longevity and how lifestyle influences this.
- The endowment for projects related to insurance and social protection must explore one of the following topics:
- Insurance.
- Risk management.
- New technologies in the insurance field.
- Social protection: pensions, savings, investment, asset liquidation and the Silver Economy (longevity economics).
Funding Information
- In 2024, Fundación MAPFRE will award research grants amounting to a total of 265,000 euros to financially support research projects in the following areas:
- Health Promotion: grants will be awarded up to a maximum gross value of 30,000 euros each.
- Insurance and Social Protection: grants will be awarded up to a maximum gross value of 15,000 euros each.
Eligibility Criteria
- The grants are open to any academic and professional researcher and research teams led by a researcher that wish to run research programs in the aforementioned areas, independently or as part of the universities, hospitals, companies or research centers to which they are affiliated. For the purposes of the application, there must only be one principal investigator per project.
