Deadline: 15 November 2024
The Hangar, a centre for artistic production and research, in collaboration with Fundación Banco Sabadell , is calling for applications for a grant for the development of an artistic research project.
The grant is intended for artists and researchers from any field involved in the cultural context of the state territory who are in the process of carrying out an artistic research project. Both projects carried out in the format of a doctoral thesis and those developed outside the academic framework can apply for the grant. The call will consider artistic research projects in any of their phases that require the context and/or services of Hangar for their development and that, in addition, incorporate actions through which the process and the knowledge generated are opened and shared. The selected project will be carried out at Hangar during a residency of eight consecutive months, between March and October 2025.
Objectives
- Create a unique research space in which traditional academic methodologies, based more or less indirectly on the scientific model, radically converge with the methodologies of the artistic context. The confluence, adaptation, versioning or hybridization of ways of doing things in traditionally segregated research fields should give rise to methodological innovations and ways of generating, transmitting and validating knowledge that are different and complementary to the academic apparatus.
- To promote experimentation in the field of artistic research and the critical exploration of its research habits and methodologies, while maintaining a commitment to rigor.
- To provide the necessary resources for the implementation of artistic research projects.
- To contribute to the characterization of the notion of artistic knowledge.
- To promote the documentation, publication and dissemination of artistic research.
