The Ministry of Culture is pleased to announce its call for Museum, Gallery and Collection Activities Grant Program.
The operation of museums and galleries with their permanent collections and exhibition programs contribute to the active participation of the public and the increase in the number of visitors, as well as to the preservation of the architectural heritage. Museums and galleries also have the power to inspire creativity, stimulate artistic expression and stimulate local regeneration.
Eligible Activities
- This call aims to support the work of Greek museums, galleries and collections and concerns the following categories of museum activities:
- Periodic exhibitions, workshops, educational programs, conferences, publications, hospitality programs and synergies with local and other organizations that are planned to be implemented within and outside the Museums,
- Creation of interpretive tools and media, digital recording of collections, creation and/or renewal of websites, production of promotional material, development of digital applications (e.g. applications, virtual/augmented reality applications) as well as other programs to enhance the extroversion and access to cultural activities of museum organizations,
- Preparation of museological studies and upgrading of exhibition infrastructures,
- Conservation work on works of art that belong exclusively to the collections of Municipal Museums and Galleries.
Eligibility Criteria
- Legal Entities of Private or Public Law of a non-profit nature, with cultural and/or charitable purposes that have been established until 30/11/2024.
Evaluation criteria
- Museums, galleries and collections must have legal personality with relevant statutory purposes.
- The collections of institutions must be accessible to the public.
- The studies and budgets for conservation work are required to be co-signed by a conservator registered in the Professional Activity Register of Conservators of Antiquities and Works of Art (Law 5039/2023, article 116).
