The Science on Stage Deutschland is offering Funding for Coding Projects to boost Digital Skills of Young Pupils in particular girls, in the EU Code Week framework.
The Code4Europe consortium, which is responsible for overseeing EU Code Week, has established a funding system to support projects from the grassroots level. Science on Stage Deutschland eV, responsible for networking coding stakeholders in German-speaking countries, invites applications for funding to support activities in the areas of digital education, coding, and computational thinking.
EU Code Week is funded by the European Union.
Goals
- The aim of this call is to identify and promote grassroots coding projects in Austria, Germany and Liechtenstein that align with the mission of EU Code Week.
- The objectives are:
- Promoting the development of innovative and scalable coding activities for children and young people, especially girls.
- Supporting initiatives that integrate coding into educational contexts and foster engagement.
- Encouraging the involvement of the local community and strengthening collaboration between various actors and stakeholders.
- Prioritizing projects that close the gender gap and promote diversity in STEM education.
Funding Information
- Funding of €7,500 will be awarded based on the quality of the applications using the following criteria:
- Clarity and comprehensibility of the project proposal
- Feasibility
- Desired effect
- Alignment with the objectives of EU Code Week
What can be funded?
- Licenses for online tools
- Learning materials for participants including processing and shipping, e.g. workbooks or hardware
- Communication to reach potential participants, e.g. flyers, posters, online marketing
- Professional external support to enable an online event, e.g. technical support
- Rent for rooms required, for example, for technical infrastructure
Eligibility Criteria
- Prerequisite: The submitting organization must be based in Germany, Austria, or Liechtenstein and be a non-profit organization. Proof of non-profit status must be provided (e.g., a certificate of exemption in Germany).
- Applications can be submitted, for example, by
- Schools (through school support associations)
- Libraries and other public institutions (through support associations or non-profit foundations)
- Extracurricular learning centers, associations and clubs in the field of coding and digital education
Ineligibility Criteria
- The following project ideas are excluded from funding:
- Projects that are not developed and implemented in Germany, Austria or Liechtenstein
- Political or religious initiatives
- Projects that only benefit individuals
- Projects that have no content-related connection to EU Code Week
- Projects/events that do not serve the common good
