Deadline: 19 September 2024
The Fidelio Charitable Trust is inviting applications for its grant opportunity to help individuals and groups who would not be able to carry out a project or activity without financial support, particularly those who are at an early stage in their careers.
Such individuals and groups must be recommended by an appropriate institution, college, Arts Festival or similar organisation. Applications by those seeking support for themselves or their school age children (e.g. for course or competition fees) will not be considered.
Fidelio welcomes applications for grants in support of the Arts particularly for Music, including Opera, Lieder, Composition and Dance.
Aims
- Fidelio aims to provide support for individuals (over the age of 21) or groups of exceptional ability, to enable them for example:
- To receive special tuition or coaching (e.g. in the case of musicians to attend Master Classes)
- To participate in external competitions
- To be supported for a specially arranged performance
- To receive support for a musical composition
Funding Information
- Fidelio’s funds are limited and no single grant will normally be greater than £5,000.
- It is important to give as much detail as possible about how much money is needed and how the proposed budget is made up.
- The trustees, while willing to provide support, may sometimes only be able to part-fund a project or activity.
Eligibility Criteria
- The person representing the recommending institution or organisation must vouch for the competence and skill of those for whom they are applying and state how they were selected. They should explain their professional relationship with the individual or group, and describe accurately the project or activity for which money is required and by when.
- Funding is not available for work already undertaken.
- Applications are not generally considered for activities for people under the age of 21, or for course fees, capital items or retrospective expenditure.
- There is no Nationality restriction and the work for which money is sought may take place overseas but the proposed beneficiaries must be based in the UK.
