The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences is inviting applications for the Evert Willem Beth Foundation Grant Program.
Researchers may apply for a grant to cover expenses associated with research, study trips, translation or the organization of scientific meetings.
Focus Areas
- Activities for which researchers may apply for a grant must concern research focused on:
- Logic;
- Philosophy of logic;
- Philosophy of science;
- History of logic;
- History of the philosophy of science;
- (Scientific) philosophy in general.
Funding Information
- Grants generally consist of a sum between €1,000 and €3,000.
Eligible Activities
- The applicant may apply for the following forms of funding:
- research costs;
- costs of study trips;
- organization costs of symposia;
- translation costs.
Ineligible Activities
- Funding is not intended for:
- the costs of items considered to be part of an institute’s standard equipment;
- the applicant’s regular work or study program;
- salaries;
- dissertation and publication costs;
- costs already incurred in on-going research.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applications for a grant can be submitted by all researchers who are Dutch nationals and/or affiliated with a research institution in the Netherlands.
Assessment Criteria
- The Board of the E.W. Beth Foundation will use the following criteria to assess applications submitted for a grant:
- scientific quality of the grant proposal;
- contribution to the goals of the E.W. Beth Foundation;
- the added value of funding from the E.W. Beth Foundation for the applicant.
