The Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council is inviting applications for its Heritage Grants to support organisations, groups and individuals who have ideas for heritage events, publications/video, exhibitions and projects.
Cultural Heritage includes all aspects of the environment resulting from the interaction between people and places through time. This can include tangible (physical) heritage such as buildings, archaeology, documents and structures as well as intangible heritage, such as music, language, craft and sport. Natural Heritage includes landscape, seascape and historic parks as well as physical, ecological and geological formations. Note that physical works to buildings or historic structures are not included in this funding scheme.
Funding Information
- The maximum grant available for any single project is €3,000 and the grant will fund 70% of total costs.
Eligibility Criteria
- This Council programme provides financial assistance to individuals, groups and organisations engaged in projects, events or initiatives at local neighbourhood or county level within the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council area.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Employees or Councillors of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council are not eligible to apply.
- Events of the following nature will not be considered:
- events that promote religious or political purposes or events that exclude or offend parts of the community
- events that have breached previous funding agreements with the council, including postevent reporting criteria, and where no commitment has been made to rectify this.
Application Requirements
- Applications must refer to activities taking place in the County which have a benefit to the wider community.
- The applicant must have a dedicated bank account.
- Grants will not cover third party grants or assistance to cover loans or deficits, charity fundraising events or the hire fee of Council premises.
- Applicants must have no outstanding debt owing to the Council or any Council Controlled Organisations.
- Applicants must fully declare any additional council, government or council controlled organisation funding or grant.
- Applicants seeking funding over €10,000 must submit a valid Tax Clearance Certificate with their application.
- Applicants must comply with all Council regulatory and statutory requirements relating to the preparation and delivery of any events, including obtaining all necessary permits and consents, if required.
