Deadline: 15 September 2025
Young entrepreneurs in Denmark now have a valuable opportunity to receive financial support to kickstart or grow their business ideas. A new micro grant program is offering seed funding for students and recent graduates who are developing innovative ideas or launching startups.
This funding is intended to provide early-stage support, especially for those just beginning their entrepreneurial journey. Applicants without a registered company (CVR number) can apply for up to DKK 25,000, while those with a CVR number may apply for up to DKK 50,000. However, a 25% self-financing requirement applies in both cases. Each team can apply for up to two grants—first without a CVR number and then later with one, for the same business idea.
The micro grant offers more than just funding. As a non-repayable grant, it removes the pressure of debt while encouraging young founders to bring their ideas to life. Whether it’s product development, refining a prototype, or enhancing a service, the grant can play a critical role in moving an idea forward.
Applicants benefit from feedback from a panel of successful entrepreneurs, seasoned investors, and business professionals who evaluate the applications. Even if the grant is not awarded, the detailed feedback helps strengthen the idea and guide future applications.
Selected recipients gain additional exposure through the grant’s Wall of Fame, social media platforms, and possible media or partner features. This visibility can attract investor interest, partnerships, and public recognition, providing a major boost to the young entrepreneur’s journey.
The grant must be used strictly for development-related expenses. It cannot be used for regular operations like paying rent, buying computers or furniture, covering travel, paying salaries, or participating in competitions. Past expenses also do not qualify.
To be eligible, the applicant and at least half of the founding team must be full-time students enrolled in a Danish educational institution, or recent graduates (within the past three months at the time of application). Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Teams can include non-students, but the core team must meet the student or recent graduate criteria.
For those applying with a CVR number, it must be newly created—within the last 12 months—and specifically registered to the startup applying for the grant. Additionally, the company must not have earned more than DKK 50,000 in total revenue.
This micro grant offers a powerful combination of funding, mentorship, and visibility to help student-led startups grow from concept to real-world impact.
