The EU Code Week Grants for Grassroots Programme is a new initiative designed to foster digital innovation and coding education throughout Europe.
EU CodeWeek is an initiative that celebrates creativity, problem-solving and collaboration through coding and other technology activities. The idea is to raise awareness of coding, show young people, adults and seniors how ideas come to life with code, demystify these skills and bring together people motivated to learn.
Aim
- The aim of the competition is to foster creativity and the development of programming skills, encouraging participants to create innovative solutions to specific problems through the use of coding technologies.
Funding Information
- One project will be selected to receive a financial prize of 2,500 euros.
Eligibility Criteria
- The competition is aimed at teachers working in educational centers in Portugal that promote initiatives (hackathons, innovation camps, immersive experiences) related to programming/robotics of all ages and experience levels.
- Participant profile:
- Being an active teacher at any level of education in an educational center in Portugal
- Have experience in coding or technology
- Projects may be submitted by one to four partners, of which at least one must meet the requirements.
- The person (who meets the requirements of section III of the beneficiaries) who has the right to submit the project on behalf of the other partners, who will represent the partners in the competition and who will be responsible for fulfilling the prize requirements for its delivery, will be identified as the person responsible for the project.
Evaluation Criteria
- The jury will select the best proposals based on the following criteria:
- Innovation/methodology
- Experience
- Impact (number of students benefited)
- Recurrence (planned for future editions)
- Impact measurement
- Digital inclusion
Application Requirements
- The project must be related to improving education through technology
- Include a detailed proposal that explains the problem to be solved, the technological solution and the expected impact
- The project must be innovative and creative.
