The Eastern Cape Provincial Arts and Culture Council (ECPACC) a public entity under the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture has officially opened calls for proposals designed to support and grow the province’s creative economy, particularly in film production and development.
Categories
- Production of the Battle of Lurwayizo Documentary: A powerful documentary to highlight the province’s liberation struggle heritage.
- ECPACC Corporate Video: a 15–20 minute film to showcase ECPACC’s impact, mandate, and vision for the arts and culture sector.
- Film Festival & Screenings Development Support: Funding support for district-level film festivals that grow local film audiences and boost the EC filming profile.
Eligibility Criteria
- Production of the Battle of Lurwayizo Documentary:
- In order for a production company to be considered for this opportunity, the applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Production companies based in the Eastern Cape Province, will be given preference.
- Preference will be given to individuals from historically disadvantaged backgrounds as defined in the constitution of South Africa.
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to work as a part of a team in the pursuit of the same objective.
- A portfolio of previous work/showreel to prove and demonstrates creative abilities and capabilities.
- In order for a production company to be considered for this opportunity, the applicant must meet the following requirements:
- ECPACC Corporate Video:
- Expertise or qualifications in professional film production
- Documentary Methodology (Not longer than 5 pages)
- Draft outline or script
- Core team profiles
- Detailed Budget Breakdown
- Film Festival & Screenings Development Support:
- Applicants born in the Eastern Cape Province, residing anywhere in South Africa but preference will be given to those residing in the Eastern Cape Province.
- Preference will be given to individuals from historically disadvantaged backgrounds as defined in the constitution of South Africa.
- Generic events management companies will be excluded as partners/applicants, but their services may be procured as and when needed.
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to work as a part of a team in the pursuit of the same objective.
- Understand the value of and is able to work under pressure and tight schedules.
- A portfolio of work to show the success of previous film festivals/screenings hosted that demonstrates their creative abilities and capabilities.
