The Changing Climate Changing Lives Film Festival is inviting grant proposals to identify and nurture new talents who present exciting ideas on a film about climate change impacts, adaptation and mitigation, and sustainability.
CCCL Film Festival offers film production grants to emerging Thai and Southeast Asian filmmakers. With climate change impacts posing more challenges to habitat, health, agriculture, and employment, they wish to encourage the young generation of Southeast Asians and others to raise awareness about climate change issues through the power of film. They are seeking powerful storytellers who can visualize the impact of climate change on the environment and on the lives in creative ways.

- Climate migration, Culture and climate, Climate change and health (including mental health), Climate change impact on the urban poor, Climate change and children, Climate change and gender inequality or gender-based violence, Food security, Water security, Community resilience, Indigenous wisdom, Climate change and AI, Climate change and wildlife/marine life, Climate change and biodiversity, Innovative adaptation or mitigation, Circular economy, Renewable energy, Youth leadership.
Eligible Projects
- The proposal must be written for a short film production. The project can be in any genre, such as fiction, documentary, experimental, or animation.
- The finished film must be at least 5 minutes in length and not exceed 15 minutes.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be a resident of a country in Southeast Asia (Brunei, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam). Young filmmakers in underrepresented, indigenous, rural and climate change-affected communities are encouraged to apply.
- Applicants who apply to this program must be a director and/or a producer of the film.
- There is no age limit for applicants.
- Applicants should have experience producing at least one short film or video.
Application Requirements
- Applicants must submit the following:
- Logline (not exceeding 150 words)
- Synopsis (not exceeding 500 words)
- Treatment
- Key Visual ( images that illustrate the mood and tone of your film.)
- Director’s statement: what do you want your audience to take away from watching the film (explain your vision and idea of your story)
- Director and producer bio(s)
- A sample of previous work. It can either be a short film under 15 minutes or an excerpt from your films. If you haven’t produced a short film, please send them a video clip or related work that shows your experience and your vision as a storyteller.
