Applications are now open for Norfolk Youth Music Award to promote, encourage, develop and improve public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of music in Norfolk.
The grant will help the development of highly-talented Norfolk-based young musicians (up to 25 years old) to pursue careers as professionals, offering annual grants and occasional public-performing opportunities.

- Applicants can apply for up to £500.

- Your application for a grant can only be considered for:
- assistance in meeting tuition fees whilst attending a college, school or university for further education in music, including travelling expenses;
- assistance in meeting the cost of promoting yourself as a solo performer in a public recital;
- assistance in meeting tuition fees whilst attending a course of advanced music tuition, including travelling expenses; and
- assistance in meeting the cost of attending a masterclass or summer school, including travelling expenses.
Geographical Focus
- Breckland, Broadland, Great Yarmouth, King’s Lynn & West Norfolk, North Norfolk, Norwich, and South Norfolk.
Eligibility Criteria
- Successful applicants will:
- Be Norfolk based young musicians.
- Already be highly skilled in one or more of the six disciplines (strings, brass, keyboard, percussion, voice and woodwinds).
- Be either undergoing a period of study at a music college or specialist school, or have made plans to do so.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Your application cannot be considered:
- If you are over 25 years of age;
- If, as a performer, you fall outside one of the six main disciplines (Brass, Keyboard, Percussion, Strings, Voice and Woodwind);
- If your home is outside the county of Norfolk, notwithstanding that your music studies may be taken within the county; and
- for either the purchase of a new instrument, or the cost of repairing your instrument, or the cost of music scores.
