Scope
- The IPOPI Research Grant Programme is an initiative aimed at promoting scientific and clinical research in the field of immunodeficiencies. As the field of primary immunodeficiency is rapidly evolving, IPOPI believes it is key to stimulate ongoing and novel research efforts in this area. Most importantly, projects should be patient-centred and knowledge-generating.
- A broad set of topics and disciplines may be considered, ranging from fundamental to clinical research or patient-derived studies, as well as medical anthropology, health economics, ethics, etc.
Funding Information
- IPOPI aims to fund a minimum of 4 grants within a total combined amount of 30.000€.
- Duration
- All projects should be concluded within a timeframe of up to 2 years.
Eligible Projects
- Patient-centredness of project
- The perspective of patients is crucial for any health research as a principle. But the way the perspectives are gathered can be done in multiple ways:
- Practical engagement of patients/National Member Organisation (NMO) representatives in discussing the project scope
- Discussion to assess if it is meeting a(n unmet) need from the patient perspective
- Involvement of patients in the research project design from the get-go
- Patient interviews in the project
- Seeking advice for patients or involvement of patients/NMO in project coordination team.
- The perspective of patients is crucial for any health research as a principle. But the way the perspectives are gathered can be done in multiple ways:
- Elaborate the scientific motivation for the project proposal based on scientific knowledge gaps, and the issues and/or problems that you want to solve with this project.
- Concisely describe the related international state of the art, with reference to scientific literature. Position your project in relation to ongoing national and international research.
Outcome
- Selected projects will receive support throughout the research process, with opportunities for dissemination through IPOPI channels.

- In keeping with IPOPI’s global reach, they encourage applicants from all continents to participate. The application will be open to researchers, clinicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals (HCP), as well as patient organisations worldwide.
