The Cardiff Council has announced their call for Cardiff Hackney Emissions Reduction Grant Scheme for the year 2025.
Funding Information
- You could get between £5,000 and £10,000 to upgrade to a more efficient taxi.
Eligibility Criteria
- You can apply for the grant if:
- You own a registered Hackney carriage that has been licensed with them since 1 February 2024,
- You live in Cardiff, and your taxi is registered to your home address,
- Your main source of income is taxi driving, and
- You have used your taxi actively over the last 3 months.
Application Requirements
- You will need:
- A completed and signed application form,
- Proof of your address,
- A copy of the V5 logbook of the vehicle you wish to upgrade,
- Taxi insurance documents and an active licence (this is evidence that your taxi has been actively used in the last 3 months), and
- Proof of bank balance (to show you have enough money to buy the vehicle before you get the grant).
